New Motorcycle License Plate for Veterans to be
Unveiled
by Robbins, ABATE, and PENNDOT
HARRISBURG -- Pennsylvania’s
new motorcycle license plate for military veterans will be unveiled Wednesday
outside the Capitol.
The event will take place Wednesday, June 30 at
11:00 a.m. at Soldier’s Grove on Commonwealth Avenue across from the East Wing
fountain. (If it rains, it will be held in the East Wing rotunda).
Participants will include State Senator Bob Robbins
(R-50), who sponsored legislation (now Act 8 of 2004) creating the plate, as
well as representatives of the Alliance of Bikers Aimed Toward Education
(ABATE), the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PENNDOT) and other
legislators.
Prior to the legislation becoming law, Pennsylvania
had 11 special veterans license plates for automobiles, but none for
motorcycles.
