Catherine Baker Knoll was a ground-breaking politician, and as the first woman to win election as lieutenant governor her place in Pennsylvania's rich political history is firmly established.

She had friends around the world, and she will be missed by everyone who knew her. My thoughts and prayers are with her family during this difficult time.
